Debt clock hits $16 Trillion as DNC celebrates Hope and Chair 2012

Well, the scene is already set for an uplifting week of healing rhetoric and outreach to independents.

Democrats are having plenty of high-profile problems dealing with the simple question: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?”

Expectations are being managed.

What they thought was a rambling speech by a fading old-timer turned out to be the perfect metaphor for the president’s lack of leadership, perfectly suited to the age of memes.

There’s a blow-out end-of-summer sale at the Obama store.

The Raleigh News & Observer delivered less-than-welcome news to incoming DNC attendees today: (see below)

The debt clock will deliver a similarly unwelcome message when it clicks over to $16 trillion as the DNC kicks off Tuesday.

But, the man of the hour remains fully secure in his own awesomeness.

Will he be enough to overcome the perils before a Democratic National Convention and deliver an electrifying call to duty that can overcome 8 percent unemployment, in the Stadium Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken?

The theme of the convention is “building the economy from the middle out.” But Obama will be relying heavily on the Clinton legacy, not his own, to convince voters he’s the best path to the future. Let’s build a bridge to the 21st Century again! It’s shovel-ready!

CONTINUED AT Hot Air.

It’s amazing. If you look around at all of the state run “media” crap on the ‘net, the ‘RAT convention is the only thing happening on the planet right now. I don’t remember the Goebbelers giving the GOP convention this much attention.

I've heard even the teleprompter has been sending out resumes looking for a new job.

The Republicans were supposed to cancel their Convention because it would interfere with the coverage of Commando Obama saving all those drowning Black folks in LA and MS.

“Are you better off than you were four years ago?”

People would be better off than they were four years ago, if it weren't for Romney's work at Bain Capital ten years ago.

Only halfway to Pluto if you stretched out those end-to-end with $1 bills. Another $16 trillion will be borrowed in next couple of years since our national debt is going asymptotic.

So that should get us to Pluto and back during the next administration.

he Outstanding Public Debt as of 04 Sep 2012 at 01:35:07 AM GMT is:

The estimated population of the United States is 313,439,839 so each citizen's share of this debt is $51,067.71.

I just heard him, think it was live, on CSPAN, give a speech in Ohio this evening. The old Hussein is back. He was excellent, drawing the people in and convincing them Romney is absolutely wrong and he is absolutely right and they were cheering and believing.

If he is this good on Thursday night, the convention will rock off to the moon and thunder out to work for him.

I wasn’t expecting him to capture this audience and lead them to the promised land, but he did.

Saying he is a communist, a Muslim, and a usurper, does not alter the fact that he is at his best on stage. It was like it was in 2008 when he was grabbing the audience then.

Maybe he will flub it Thursday night, but he was on tonight.

In order to spend 6 trillion dollars in 1,460 days (4 years), Zero & Co. had to spend over 4 million dollars a day, every day.
