Romney Fires Back After DNC Platform Excludes Jerusalem as Israeli Capital

Unlike the party’s 2008 platform, the Democrats 2012 platform does not specifically mention Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and now Mitt Romney is firing back.

“It is unfortunate that the entire Democratic Party has embraced President Obama’s shameful refusal to acknowledge that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Romney said in an e-mail to reporters.

Mitt Romney at the Western Wall

In 2008, the Democratic platform stated: “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.”

Earlier this year, White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest stated “the capital [of Israel] is something that should be determined in final status negotiations between the parties. I’d remind you that that’s the position that’s been held by previous administrations, both Democratic and Republican.”

The Jerusalem Embassy Act, which calls for Jerusalem to be recognized as the capital of Israel, was passed by Congress in 1995 but has never been implemented. Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and now Barack Obama have viewed it as a congressional infringement on the executive branch’s constitutional authority over foreign policy.

“Four years of President Obama’s repeated attempts to create distance between the United States and our cherished ally have led the Democratic Party to remove from their platform an unequivocal acknowledgment of a simple reality,” Romney’s statement read on Tuesday. “As president, I will restore our relationship with Israel and stand shoulder to shoulder with our close ally.”

Mormonism is not Christianity.

Judaism is not Christianity.

Who does Romney think he is telling people where they should put their capital?

If the Jews want it to be in Jerusalem, so be it. It is their decision, not ours.

Again, the argument here is that we are saved by grace, not by works. The irony in this discussion is that Mormonism is all about works, not about salvation by grace only. And yet some Christians argue that because a born-again Christian might be a member of the Mormon Church, he must not be saved. So his work of being in the wrong church or doing the wrong thing keeps him from salvation. That’s a Mormon-esque works-based argument for salvation, not a Biblical one.

Judaism does not claim to be Christianity, mormonism does.

Or if you say you don’t support Romney or expose mormonism, well at least here by some on FR.

That’s complete nonsense. What you are basically telling me is that a Christian can still be “born again” by denying Jesus Christ and embracing a perverted Gospel. Would you give this ridiculous premise to the Apostle Paul, too?:

Gal 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (7) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (8) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (9) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Nope.
Until about three decades ago they demanded not to be called Christian but mormon.
Oh, yea and Joseph Smith founded his entire religion on anti-Christianity.
Maybe, you don’t know mormonism.

“Only on FR does a pro-Israel thread turn into an anti-Mormon bash fest.”

Tell the Mittbots, who only care about Mormonism because of politics, to stop injecting LDS propaganda into perfectly healthy threads.

Oh, hell know.
Ron Paul has nothing to do with mormonism exposure.
What a strange thing to say.

“Your post 44 injected the propaganda.

What’s your motive? Pelosi handmaiden or something?”

My motive was to respond to an obnoxious post that felt the compulsion to correct someone calling Romney a Mormon with the word ‘Christian’ despite a few thousand other threads on the subject that are guaranteed to degenerate into p***ing matches where the Mormon defenders, who don’t know anything about Mormonism, degenerate into ‘You support Obama’ or “you’re a handmaiden of Pelosi” to punish the blasphemy of speaking the truth.

Just another example of how there is no difference at all between Obama and Romney, right?

“Nah, you intentionally derailed a thread that had nothing to do with Mormonism.

Gonna stick to my Pelosi handmaiden assessment, whose message is that Jews don’t belong in the Republican party.”

You can stick to whatever fantasies you want. It’s not like I’ve been able to stop you in the past from them.

This always ends up being a debate over how many angels can dance on the tip of a pin.

“Believe” what you like.
