I’ve discovered something that silences the Ron Paul fanatics whenever the vitriol climbs to unbearable levels in Internet forums: You just say “I’ve liked Ron Paul’s votes in Congress for a long time, but he was never destined to be President. its *Rand* Paul we need to be focusing on for that job. The sooner you stop talking about Rep. Ron Paul, the faster we can start championing Senator Rand Paul.”
They pretty much agree, quiet down, and slink away. Plus, you inoculate yourself against any hostility from them.

Interview just ended here on the West Coast...no 3rd party run was announced. Nothing groundbreaking in the interview.

Paul did say no to Leno's question of a 3rd party run, but it wasn't a very strong sincere no.

Ross Perot succeeded in doing what he wanted to do, defeat GHW Bush.

It is foolish to pull the ears of a sleeping dog. Republicans were foolish.

Paul’s supporters are mostly Democrats, and Code Pink types.

(I'm voting for Ryan and that other guy.)

I don’t believe that was his intent, but that was the effect after he reentered the race, yes.

I don't know which state you are in but I absolutely believe that Perot's intent was not to win the presidency for himself but to defeat GHWBush. Perot tried to get into Bush's administration and he was rebuffed. The absolute joy on his face after Clinton's election left me with no doubt. He was a spoiler of the worst kind.
