The real story here is what a farce the voice vote of the delegates turned into. Obviously assuming that everyone would go along, they took a voice vote and the number of yeses and nos sounded virtually identical. The chair, Antonio Villaraigosa looked stunned and didn’t know what to do next. After an awkward few moments, he called for another vote, and received similar results.

Apparently, their rules required a two-thirds affirmative vote to pass the platform amendment. So, he tried a third time and upon hearing nearly the same thing again just went ahead and declared that the amendment had received a two-thirds “yes” vote and passed it. It was hilarious.

I guess he had observed Obama ruling by fiat so often that he just decided to do the same. I also guess the divided vote indicates that at least half of the delegates don’t agree with mentioning God or with declaring Jerusalem to be Israel’s capital. And I suspect most of the other half voted “yes” strictly for political perception.

It was a glorious display of the libs’ incompetence and buffoonery.

Wouldn’t it be challenged?
