“Villaraigosa is a rising star? He looked confused when he was trying to do something about the Off-God and -Jerusalem vote. Looked as if he were a little burro—a burrito—standing by a busy freeway. He actually flinched.”

I’m surprised they made him do that—it hurt one of their young guns. It made him look awfully bad to the radicals in the party. He was obviously following orders from the boss. And he obviously knew he was doing the wrong thing. But he did it anyway.

That deer-in-the-headlights look was caused by his sudden realization that he would have to commit an obvious fraud on national TV. There was a pic out there yesterday that showed him on stage, along with the teleprompter's words indicating that the "Ayes have it". This was while the vote was being taken! The outcome was (literally) scripted, and everyone would know! It's no wonder he hesitated, he saw the earth opening up and swallowing his candidacy for ANYTHING. So he tried again, and again, then asked for help (somebody get me out of this!)

While the delegates denied God three times, Villaigarosa denied his party twice - he finally obeyed, but it was half-hearted and ugly. He's no rising star now.
