2) End the "boutique blend" madness.

That might not fly in our Federal courts.I'm a big believer in states' rights but when it comes to anything concerning energy (which,for us,*is* a matter of *national security*) all laws/regulations should come from DC and apply to the *entire* nation.

(Hear that,California tree worshipers,I just told you to go bleep yourselves)

I believe the Bush administration temporarily ended "boutique blends" during a previous price spike. Nobody died.

Impediments and mandates to the refining process do nothing but add costs. The US and Canada have a huge advantage in energy costs compared to other nations. Energy costs affect every manufactured product. Labor might be cheaper elsewhere, but energy, outside of the mid east, should be cheapest here. The mid east doesn't count because they have virtually no manufacturing base and no desire to build one.
