I will not put it past Obama to hit the terrorists hard, for the simple reason that he wants to be reelected. He remembers that the hostage crisis in Iran, and Jimmy Carter's weak and ineffective actions, doomed Carter's reelection hopes. Obama has little to lose on his left flank; the Green Party is even lower in the polls than the Libertarian and Constitution Parties, which could well cost Romney New Mexico and Virginia, the home states of the respective parties' Presidential candidates. The Green Party's Presidential candidate, Jill Stein, is not the threat to him that Ralph Nader was to Al Gore in 2000.

Motivating the national security voters and weakening the usual Democrat super-majority among Jewish voters, especially older ones, who have memories of the Holocaust and the early years of Israel would be suicidal to Obama's reelection chances. Inaction or ineffective action will cost Obama Florida and hurt him in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

I expect it. He doesn't have a choice. Failure to manufacture and propagandize a "tough" response to this foreign policy debacle could cost him the election.

There really aren’t any “national security voters.”

Honestly the reaction of the average man or woman in the street isn’t “lets strike somebody” it’s “why do we even have people in Benghazi in the first place?”

Isolationist feelings are incredibly strong right now.
