GOP leaders less critical than Mitt Romney in response to Libya attack
Washington Post ^ | 9/12/12 | Ed O'Keefe

But no Republican leader [other than Romney] criticized President Obama on Wednesday morning. They called instead for stronger security at U.S. diplomatic facilities, the swift capture and punishment of the perpetrators and a renewed commitment to pro-democracy efforts in the Arab world.

Now is “a time for healing,” Ryan (R-Wis.) told a crowd in De Pere, Wis., during a campaign stop. He made no criticism of Obama in his remarks.

House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement: “We mourn for the families of our countrymen in Benghazi, and condemn this horrific attack. Eleven years after September 11, this is a jolting reminder that freedom remains under siege by forces around the globe who relish violence over free expression, and terror over democracy — and that America and free people everywhere must remain vigilant in defense of our liberties.”

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) added in a separate statement that, “These attacks will not deter America from continuing to promote peace, democracy, individual and religious freedom and an unwavering respect for human life throughout the region and the world.”

In the Senate, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) usually reserves his morning Senate floor remarks to sharply criticize Obama administration policy. But Wednesday he struck a more somber tone and expressed support for “employing every available tool at our disposal to ensure the safety of Americans overseas and to hunt down those responsible for these attacks.

Even Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) — a troika that regularly critiques the Obama administration’s foreign policy — urged Obama to continue supporting democracy efforts in Libya and Egypt.

Romney was cool in the face of the Obama media’s gross bias.

“..GOP leaders........oxymoron alert..”

:::::::::::::::

These gutless bastards have been a big part of our problem for a long time. And we must blame the Repub voters for this since they keep reelecting the bought-and-paid-for RINOs in the Congress. Their taxpayer-funded pay checks and their golden “D.C. Golden” medical plans keep them kissing all the butt they can — to say nothing of the payoffs from the lobbyists that dwarf their pay checks.

Totally sucks.

Here’s what I said about the war (by any other name) in Libya last June:

“It’s an embarassment for NATO, for sure.

However, why is NATO even trying to kill Daffy? He stopped his WMD programmes, shortly after the Iraq invasion. He had been embraced (literally, even) by European and American leaders for several years since. Libya was considered benign — perhaps even a success story in the WOT.

It’s become very clear that the rebels were not the vanguard of a “popular uprising”.

The leftist notion of a “humanitarian war” is a dangerous concept. In the case of Libya, there wasn’t even an actual humanitarian crisis — just trumped-up charges of impending genocide.”

Rush said Obama put his arm around part of Hillary. The part it would fit around, one assumes.

What does it take to wake up the stupid, limp Repub electorate to replace the RINOs??? FOUR MORE YEARS OF OBAMA and his Marxist destruction of America???

This is a coordinated media attack.
It’s BS btw, I heard the same line that Romney gave from a GOP congressman, Rep McCaul of Texas. I am sure there are others, but there will be a media blackout. The media has their narrative dammit and facts wont get in their way.

Romney has been 100% correct and on target, and the media cannot abide that, it will hurt precious Obama to be exposed as weak and feeble - it’s Obama’s CARTER MOMENT.

So they are going over-the-top attacking Romney, who after all said exactly the right thing and what needed to be said.

THIS is the problem. It isn’t that Obama is President - though that isn’t good. The problem is that “our team” sucks so bad, has not convictions, and stands for little. The marketplace of ideas and passions will soon render them the minority party for another 40 years, if they do not change - and I don’t think they will. It is their nature.

The problem is that the GOPe has become a party of ball-less pansies, that bloom only to keep their power, that stand for little, that oppose not much of anything (unless it threatens to make their base not vote for them), and who live in that gray twilight that enjoys neither victory nor defeat.

They enjoy a milktoast existence. Instead of standing for what is right, instead of opposing the evil one, they are perpetually content with following two or three steps behind, fearful of offending anyone. This is one more example.

RINOmney issued a lame statement. Yes, it was a statement, but instead of throwing a beating on Zero’s mishandling of world affairs with a vengence, he labels it “disgraceful”. It is far, far more than disgraceful. TELL THE TRUTH RINOmney. Take it to Zero like a flaming fastball. Point out to the world how lame, inept, and evil he is.

That is the problem with Republicans and why they chose to support RINOmney in this election. He is one of theirs.

“What does it take to wake up the stupid, limp Repub electorate to replace the RINOs??? FOUR MORE YEARS OF OBAMA and his Marxist destruction of America???”

That is exactly what they are going to get. The “stupid, limp Repub electorate” will be expecting others to do the voting. Many will sit at home, watch their ball games, drink their beer, and then bitch about how bad things are.

I’ve been saying it for a long time now. Obama is damned near a shoe-in for another term. Then, it’s over.

Romney and Ryan better grow a pair, and fast, and start sticking to Zero like they mean it.

Bah!
It’s not something to hammer Obama over immediately.
Don’t step in the way when an opponent is hurting himself.
Have some hearings on the seurity failure.

Would have been a nice touch to mention it’s the first ambassasor killed since Dubs in the Carter presidency though...

The media has never mentioned that, just say “in 20 years...”.

“the swift capture and punishment of the perpetrators”
Any politician (dem or GOP), who tries to fold these atrocities into some sort of legal pursuit of justice should be removed from office. This was a coordinated attack by an enemy that has been enboldened by the current US POTUS’s feckless ability or ineptitude to address national security. This was an act of war not from a nation but from a whole ideological class of people(animals). The only response that will neutralize the situation is an overwhelming show of strength. We must hit all the centers of culture and power these people use to foment their abhorrent behaviors. As I stated in a previous post. NUKE LIBYA, EGYPT, AND IRAN! If these Ideologues persist, than take out Mecca and all major mosques and eliminate any human being that obstructs us. This is war!

This hateful SOB muslims are itching to eliminate Israel from the face of this earth and are testing the waters of our resolve. By our government's reply to Egypt only proves that we don't have the b@lls or the fortitude to come to Israels defense or our own folk. Pray for Israel cause our black muslim-in-chief will NOT help defend her. GOD’s curse upon Obama!

They are all scum, I swear. I’m sending Romney money TODAY, money I can ill afford to part with , but money talks.

I’m actually on hold with the WH right now, to tell that group what a bunch of losers they all are.

Then I’m calling the RNC to tell them to grow some freaking spines.

Then I’m calling the Romney campaign to say “don’t back down and here’s some dough.”

how surprising that the GOP has no balls yet again.

Where were the marines, did they have no rounds for their guns, were they told to stand down and not shoot back , who gave the orders.?

I find it maazing that no protestors were killed if the marines were allowed to do their job which tells me someone told them not to shoot, not to defend American soil and Amercian lives.

This stinks of another massive cover up and the GOP will do nothing again and the media will cover for their messiah.

Makes me frigging puke this crap .

Romney today got idiots under the guise of journalism today spewing their questions like what makes you better for foreign policy but they did not ask that of teir messiah in 2008.

We will lose this election if we stand down yet again and not go after jug ears or call out the media, name names, use facts and comments by them .
