Is that a guess or a fact. And are you certain there isn't one good code hacker among Egypt's 83 million people. Because if they know, or even suspect, that an IFF block is there it is a darn sure thing they are working on a way around it. If the Patriot and Modernized hawk batteries are active we are going to be in for a beating. And even if they are off line the Egyptians still have 150+ batteries of SAMs supplied by the Russians, Brits and French. They probably haven't let us put IFF on their systems. They might not be as good as the Patriots, but quantity can make up for that. Could we burn through the Soviet era crap, sure, but it wouldn't be a walk in the park. Especially if Euro's don't let us base out of their countries.

As a comparison of Quantity the US military only around 70 patriot batteries.
