I just read an overview of Romney’s comments - I see a downside. there are plenty of people in the 47% that will/would vote for Romney. Maybe Romney doesn’t realize that. They may find his remarks insulting. The media will definitely capitalize on this latest opportunity. Hopefully it doesn’t do too much damage.

Nope. The 47%ers that would vote for Mitt want out of the dependency game. They hate it. They’re using it in the way it was intended, or as it was sold- temporary assistance.

Insulting? Maybe not in the way you think.

In response to Romney's comments, there are some in the 47% who will look in the mirror, not like what they see, and step over the line to join the 53%. They'll be motivated by shame and anger and a desire to better themselves.

To those in this group who will be receptive, Romney needs to deliver this admonition like a stern father.
