“Mr. Smith’s bill earned a majority in the House, 257-158, but fell 20 votes shy of the two-thirds vote needed under expedited House rules. Only 30 Democrats voted for it — well short of the number GOP leaders had expected to join them.”

The Democrats want the flotsam jetsam of the 3rd world to come in via that bullshyte known as family reunification. Democrats want immigrants who will become Democrat voters. Democrats despise immigration based on education and English proficiency. If you go to Canada, Australia, New Zealand you cannot immigrate there unless you possess a skill they want or a decent education with English proficiency. Many 3rd worlders can jump these hurdles or the immigrant might be from Europe or developed Asia

America is the worst and stupidest as far as catering to immigration by 3rd world numbskulls who will be on the dole one way or another
