Actually I think the fire should come first as too many nerve endings would be lost in the skinning process. A series of small very shallow cuts before burning would allow the skin to crack and curl. Then the skining. After that the best thing is a fan set on low. The remaining nerve endings don’t know what to do with simple air. Anyone who has had a “dry socket” after a tooth extraction can tell you about the pain of air hitting an exposed nerve.
