Romney Losing Donors to GOP House, Senate Candidates
Foxnews ^

Posted on 10/01/2012 7:40:42 PM PDT by chessplayer

The Romney campaign is experiencing what some officials believe could be the beginning of a mass exodus of big money donors diverting their cash away from the Republican presidential hopeful and toward Republican candidates for the House and Senate races more likely to win in November, the FOX Business Network has learned.

The trend isn’t at the acute stage, at least not yet, said one person with direct knowledge of the matter. This person, a major player in Romney’s New York fundraising circles, confirmed to FOX Business that a few New York donors have backed away from financial commitments to the Romney campaign and instead said they will spend their money to help the Republicans hold on to the House of Representatives, and pick up seats in the Senate.

But another person with direct knowledge of the matter says the trend, though nascent, is more geographically broad based, and reflects an increasing degree of anxiety both with what they believe is the tentative nature of the Romney campaign, and recent poll numbers that show President Obama with a lead, particularly in key battleground states, that some Republican contributors are starting to believe is insurmountable.

I'm at a loss. We have the most incompetent and destructive president in history. He is destroying the country piecemeal. ANYONE should be able to beat him, but he may win in a bigger landslide than he did against McCain. What is happening is a direct result of the media.

If the WH is not turned over this year, the House and Senate are meaningless. He will do everything by Executive Order and the Congress will be unable to stop him.

What is happening is a direct result of the media.

They are somewhat to blame, but the GOP-e is mostly to blame for forcing a cnadidate that 3/4 of the party despises. That said, the game isn’t over yet.

If you have a house and senate with the stones to do their job, Obama can be rendered pretty much powerless or even removed by other means.

The media is a big part of it.

But, the real fault lies with Romney. He is campaigning like McCain and Dole, when he has to be campaigning like Reagan.

STOP LETTING THE MEDIA MANIPULATE YOU. Romney is going to win in a landslide. How stupid can you be. The is no group he is ahead in.

Maybe the big money donors know something we don’t know.

The Polls are skewed - fixed... Rassmusen is probably close on target... near tied at least ... but I suspect Romney is ahead...

However, Romney hires his liberal New England cronies and puts forth a stupid campaign... Romney complies with his handlers and play ‘patty cake’ with obama for the most part ... And mostly Romney sticks his thumb in the eye of Conservatives and sees Tea Party folks as Space Aliens...

And - now Romney’s liberal management team are shocked ... where is the deep seated support ... ? Stupid Dick Heads Romney has hired...

If Romney should pull this off, I swear, it will be against his will. This is exactly what an empty suit looks like. He wants to be handed things, but fights for nothing. It’s just impolite.

Poor Ryan. Stuck with a rubber raft when we need a gun ship.

This is more of the same: negative stories about Romney to get people on our side demoralized. The media is already trying to downplay the debates because they know Zero won’t do well. Many Americans will see on Wednesday who the right man for the job is, and that’s Mitt Romney.

And here’s why the skewed polling is the most disgusting disastrous thing to happen to this election cycle along with the media touting all of them. People start to believe it and they don’t wanna waste money on a so-called loser.

IF the polls are true. We’re in big effing trouble with nobody to stand against this bastard in the WH.

agree to a large extent...when Romney had the ballsy move to hold a press conference in front of the bankrupt Solyndra facility i thought, “great- finally!!”...its been a rather weak kneed response since...

“Romney is going to win in a landslide.”

Then I guess I don’t need to donate. That’s good. Just last night I gave three modest donations to some local candidates. Those RNC envelopes I still get are tossed in the garbage.
