Robert Gibbs defends Obama on videotape (Once again, Obama is proved to be a racist pig)

A top campaign adviser to President Barack Obama on Wednesday dismissed a much-hyped video of then-candidate Obama in 2007 suggesting the poor response to Hurricane Katrina had failed the mostly minority residents of New Orleans, joking that the president would welcome a debate on the federal effort. “If Republicans want to defend the Bush administration’s response to Katrina, I’m sure the president would give them his time during the debate to do that,” Robert Gibbs, the former White House press secretary, said on CBS’s “This Morning.”

In the speech, which was covered by major news outlets at the time and delivered to an audience of black ministers at Hampton University in Virginia, Obama decries the federal government’s response to Hurricane Katrina.

The PIllsbury Dough Boy would defend Obama if he was killing babies and eating them for lunch.

I thought that the Mayor of New Orleans turned down offers of help from the Federal Government in the first few days after the hurricane. Is this not correct, or did I miss something?

Possibly. I also believe the Dem Governor slowed things down considerably for some turf oriented reason.

You are correct and the governor also turned down all requests.
You might remember the mayor also had about thousand school buses he refused to allow to be used for evacuation, even though he had people volunteering to drive.

I actually thought when I read about it yesterday that releasing this tape was a mistake, because nobody is going to care about the fact that Obama was and is a black racist: people already know it and they don’t care. But I was sure the Dems were going to use it as a chance to bring up the most hated boogeyman of all, George Bush.

Bush’s behavior during Katrina is fully defensible and he clearly bent over backwards to help NO and blacks and give them money. But it was a big mistake to give the media an off-message issue to get Romney backed into a corner during the debates, and you can bet that’s what’s going to happen.

Releasing this video now was a stupid tactic.

It was the Governor that turned it down.

Had Bush sent in Fed troops without her OK it would have been an impeachable offense.

Rather than try and defend the indefensible, attack. A good, but somewhat transparent, tactic.

You are so right the Governor wanted Bush to look bad, she did not want to give the President power.

Contrary to popular belief, they really are not the same person. The one on the left is actually entertaining and has a sense of humor.

As Gibbs well knows it’s not about Katrina, it’s about Obama using Katrina to reveal his inner racist Al Sharpton, complete with ghetto accent.

Glad to see Gibbs defend it, helps bump the video another news cycle.
