As I understand it, it’s a 20% reduction that’s been proposed by Romney.
US income is roughly 2.5 trillion dollars. So, there’s no way a tax cut could cut 5 trillion dollars. They only make 2 and a half trillion to begin with.

a $5 trillion tax cut, on top of the extension of the Bush tax cuts, so that's another $2 trillion, and $2 trillion in additional military spending that the military hasn't asked for. That's $8 trillion. Anybody who adds 5 and 2 and 2 and comes up with 8 is not firing on all cylinders.
