I agree. It's a difficult situation and Ryan has to avoid being trivialized, on the one hand, or being turned into a cruel grampa-destroying meanie, on the other.

I believe that the farmer was a non drinker and had been all of his life.
He was devastated at the portrayal that Plugs tried to make of him as reckless and inebriated. (How many farmers do you know “drink their lunch” and then go out to plow?) When he died, the farmer’s family said that he had despaired all of the rest of his life for these false accusations and never being able to clear his name..
The accident was Mrs. Biden’s fault.. She pulled out in front of him and he wasn’t able to stop in time.
Biden disgusts me with his bloviating, his overly white choppers, his plugs, his lies...everything about him is fake.

Yes, you’re exactly right. I saw his family interviewed. There is nothing more devastating than being falsely accused and not having the power to clear your name. May Joe Biden rot!
Ryan of course needs to prepare like he is behind; and like Joe Biden is an intelligent, good debater.
I would hate to see the talk the next morning about how Bidenopolis held his own, had the debate of his life the night before.

Biden might be a clown but he's been around the block a few times. He's perfectly capable of having 90 minutes of lucidity on national TV. Especially in light of Obama's dismal performance last week. Biden will likely behave himself and take it up a notch or two.
I'm not worried about Ryan at all. He's sharp and on top of his game. But if Biden is able to at least hold his own, you know that the national media will kick the "Comeback Kid" meme into high gear.
That said, a poor performance by Ryan will hurt Romney way more than a lackluster performance by Biden will hurt Obama. Ryan needs to turn in a great performance to keep the Romney momentum going.
