VA Tech professor touts radical new advance in weapons technology
St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 3 October, 2012 | Kurt Hofmann

Posted on 10/06/2012 5:11:19 AM PDT by marktwain

The self-described "progressive" Democracy Now! news program recently interviewed Virginia Tech professor Nikki Giovanni, who taught a class in which VA Tech mass murderer Seung-Hui Cho was (briefly) a student, before she demanded that he leave the class. In the interview, Professor Giovanni advanced some rather startling notions about guns:

"I think that guns are not one of our good ideas. I read the Constitution, and I didn’t see anything that said that any fool that wants a gun should have one. What did I miss?"

Well, one thing she seems to have missed is that the Constitution does not say that "any fool that [sic] wants a" vote should have one, but prospective voters are not required to prove their intelligence. This, of course, is exactly as it should be, because among other problems, such a system would make virtual kings out of those on whom was conferred the power of determining who the "fools" were. Exactly the same problem would apply to restricting firearms in that manner.

She also claimed that if Virginia Tech ever permitted students to carry concealed firearms in class, she would enact a class rule requiring that she and every student "drop [their] clothes outside the door, and we’re going to come in in underwear that is form-fitting," for every class session, so no guns could be concealed (good luck getting that rule to withstand legal scrutiny). She claims the reason for that rule would be that "I’m not going to try to teach somebody that I don’t know what’s in his pocket." How she knows now what students have in their pockets is left unexplained. She certainly did not explain how wearing only their tight-fitting underwear would have helped any of Cho's victims.

Perhaps most startling, though, was her next claim:

A good deconstruction by Kurt Hofmann. I was tempted to put a barf alert on it for Nikki's remarks.

She must know something about some imminent advance in weaponry, because obviously she cannot be contending that weapons themselves are obsolete.

Oh, dear God! If they do with weapons what they did to the auto industry, God help us all!

Ah, she doesn't like cars either. Everyone can ride to work on their bicycle with tight, form-fitting clothes so they can't conceal a weapon. So the real reason she doesn't like guns is that they cause global warming. Specifically:

4 KNO3 (s) + 7 C (s) + S (s) ---> 3 CO2 (g) + 3 CO (g) + 2 N2 (g) + K2CO3 (s) + K2S (s).

You’re excused Nikki. The Constitution was not designed to be interpreted by collegiate idiots.

Yep, she definitely needs to be living and working in a Gun Free Zone. Let her call 911 and wait.

Guns are an idea whose time has passed. It’s that simple. Cars and guns are two things you don’t need.

Self explanatory no comment needed

Virginia Tech is a public, taxpayer supported, university. Per usual you have a no talent commie feeding off the taxpayer. Nicki Giovanni goes way back as an (alleged) poet. I used to frequently read about her years ago and figured she was dead. I guess not, she is busy polluting young minds and stealing from Virgina taxpayers.

Naturally she is lesbian with life-partner Virgina Fowler https://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=TOp&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=X&ei=OSNwUMCxGoGk8AT874G4CQ&spell=1&q=nikki+giovanni+virginia+fowler&ved=0CB4QvwUoAA&biw=1696&bih=819

From David Codrea: “...Professor Giovanni, a darling of leftist academic circles, so naturally someone commissioned by NPR to write an inaugural poem for Obama.”

I bet the iconic blaster seen in countless sci-fi films becomes a reality.

Seriously, a real blaster that may be just a simple railgun at first firing very small particles at super high speeds to possibly something from Star Trek.

Or better yet light sabers, of which I would rather have.

Its only a matter of time, and not centuries of time before these weapons become a reality.

She is just another affirmative action hire, unqualified to teach anything. It is amazing how low the universities have gone to hire “professors”. A degree from that school is worthless.

Its the same mindset that claims we’ll have peace if we unilaterally disarm. Then we will set the example for our adversaries. The possibility that our adversaries would take advantage of the situation does not even seem to be a possibility to them. Of course, I don’t think they’re that stupid—they know exactly what would happen: the destruction of American and the enslavement of its (remaining) people. In fact, that outcome is what they secretly dream of & work toward.

Generally, I try to give them the benefit of a doubt but it is certainly getting harder and harder. I would be a lot more worried if they had better leadership. Fortunately they do not! Their messages are generally muddled and it takes everyone a long time to get on the same page and when they finally do, someone turns the page and they have to start (lying) all over again. I do think that if they were as organized as they were in 2008 for the campaign we, as a country, would be in a whole lot more hurt than we are in now. We do need to stop them now as they will not have to worry about messaging or anything else in the next 4 years. If we let this happen we are as guilty as he for comes next.

What a vomitatious couple. These leftist parasites will be retiring in (comparative) luxury courtesy of the taxpayers of Virginia. These lesbos and Marxists only hire their own. Virginia Fowler (her lesbo partner) hired Nicki Giovanni

Not a chance. We haven't even developed a practical electric vehicle, yet.

A man-portable power source capable of generating the energies needed to make something equal to even the common rifle isn't even on the technological radar screen.

“I read the Constitution, and I didn’t see anything that said that any fool that wants a gun should have one. What did I miss?”

She missed the second grade and on as her reading comprehension and vocabulary are severely lacking, which is why she is a college professor and not actually out working.
