I haven't been a Mitt fan, but I agree with your analysis. Mitt is more successful than the vast majority of Americans. He worked hard, and earned his American dream. And what a dream it is. He doesn't need the job. He makes enough money from his investments to live the rest of his days in absolute splendor.
I'd like to believe that he was being honest when he said that he's in this race to turn the country around, so that his fellow Americans could reclaim the promise of the Framers and our Constitution.
Remember when Mitt motioned behind him to the words of our Founding Documents written on the walls of the debate arena? Go back and watch Obama's reaction to that, on the split screen. He shut down, and drew a blank mask over his face, but I could tell that he felt nothing but contempt for what Romney was saying in that moment.
Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Cant Lose!
There's definitely something there. I'm beginning to believe that Romney has had an epiphany of sorts, and that he's rediscovered something that lives inside all conservatives. He showed me that on Wednesday night, and I must admit, it was a welcome sight.

Mitt Romney is what Pat Buchanan in 1992 called “a conservative of the heart”.
