OBAMACARE plans to not permit readmissions of Medicare patients. Hosptials will be fined if they are readmitted. So if mom has surgery and develops an infection, forget about it.

Also, plan on comfort care only after age 72.

The penalties started last Monday, it is terrifying to read what admissions with be penalized. If you have congestive heart disease, heart attack or pneumonia be prepared to be denied admission to a hospital a second time, and these are disease that often require readmission. My husband would be long dead had this taken effect a year ago. I have told him and made him mad enough that he's going to live a lot longer just to spite Obama!
