The U.S. Senate race in Ohio is now a tie.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Ohio Voters finds incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown and his Republican challenger Josh Mandel each earning 46% support. Two percent (2%) like another candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Ohio now shifts back from Safe Democrat to a Toss-up in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power rankings. With the addition of Ohio, seven Senate races nationwide are Toss-Ups, but at this point it still appears likely that Democrats will retain control of the Senate.

Wow! This is quite a swing! Hopefully, Mandel can ride Romney’s coattails into the senate.
Lookslike we`re seeing some ripple effect from Romney`s thorough ass-whipping of 0bama in Debate #1.
Impossible. I’m watching an NPR hack on C-span and he swears that Ohio will send Brown back to the Senate.
“...but at this point it still appears likely that Democrats will retain control of the Senate.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
RCP has it 47-43 now for the D’s, and these are the tossups:
AZ: Open (R)
CT: Open (D)
IN: Open (R)
MA: Brown (R)
MO: McCaskill (D)
MT: Tester (D)
NV: Heller (R)
ND: Open (D)
VA: Open (D)
WI: Open (D)
If Romney wins, the D’s have to win 4 of these 10 to retain control.
I just don’t see that. In fact, if the debates keep going like this, we just might sweep all 10.
Tester is cooked in Montana. Allen has been trailing by 7 points according to latest Ras poll-that’s unfortunate but a ton of money coming in from out of state. Kaine is as left wing as it gets-a drummer boy for Obama. North Dakota should flip.
Interesting that they have McCaskill as a toss up in Mo. Akin must be comming on strong.
Incumbent Heller should be a mile ahead of that corrupt liberal (she could be Harry Reid's twin sister) in Nevada, but he isn't. The polls are a LOT closer in alleged Republican states like AZ and IN than they have any right to be; maybe it's polling bias, maybe it's RINO/Lugar backlash in Indiana, who knows?
A good tilt to the right in those states and we have a chance to take back the Senate, but we sure as hell aren't anywhere near that point yet. Just a slight tilt to the left, and the Rats come close to a sweep of those 10 (and of course easily retain PA, MI, and take Maine). Quite a shame because a lot of these are ripe for the taking.
I believe alot of this swing also has to do with the fact that Brown totally sucks as a senator and has voted with Omoron 97% of the time. People remember that kind of crap voting record....this is good news. Keep it up!
Why is OH not in your list?
You are two modest dear sir....I was thinking more of a grand TSUNAMI...
...that will sweep the dims into the dustbin of history.
The airwaves and internet are splattered with Brown signs - all negative toward Mandel - calling him a liar and a politician you can’t trust. None of the ads brag on his record. Gosh, sounds like the empty suit in the WH, doesn’t it?
I`m tapped out till payday but if you guys want to help him, http://www.joshmandel.com we at the PortageCountyTeaParty http://www.portagecountyteaparty.com have been doing all we can. If you`re broke too, consider donating some time to make calls or something. While you`re there at the PCTP site, consider helping other supported candidates.
We will win ND, NE, MT for starters.
Thompson is likely in WI.
We will win either FL or VA.
Brown will hold in MA; so will Heller in NV.
McMahon still has a very good shot in CT.
Mandel has a shot in OH.
We will lose the seat in Maine to that independent idiot who will caucus with the RATS.
+4 is definitely doable and I still believe we are going to net +6.
It’s not my list - it’s RCP’s.
I suspect OH will soon be there.
Don’t write off Tom Smith in Penna - he’s been pounding Casey with excellent TV ads for months, and the best Casey has been able to come back with is that Smith is a Tea Partier - Penna’s other senator is already Republican and they have a Republican governor - they do know how to pull the ‘pub lever......
What else would a liberal hack say?
This is an encouraging poll.
I wonder if he’s planning another shot at Brown.
