CAMP: “And you can do all that by cutting taxes? With a big tax cut?”
Romney from the debate: “And the reason is because small business pays that individual rate; 54 percent of America’s workers work in businesses that are taxed not at the corporate tax rate, but at the individual tax rate. And if we lower that rate, they will be able to hire more people. For me, this is about jobs. This is about getting jobs for the American people.
“Look, the right course for America’s government, we were talking about the role of government, is not to become the economic player, picking winners and losers, telling people what kind of health treatment they can receive, taking over the health care system that has existed in this country for a long, long time and has produced the best health records in the world.”
“The right answer for government is say, How do we make the private sector become more efficient and more effective?”
The reporter knows the answer to his question. He was setting Ryan up for a gotcha question.
A related issue: The crime in our cities is the result of the illegal drug industry employing impoverished youth when in better economic times, these kids would have legitimate jobs.
Another issue is the influx of illegal drugs coming in from our southern border. Mexico is being overrun by powerful drug operations that have corrupted the Mexican government. Our border security is another failure of the Obama Regime. Cities like Chicago have been corrupted by the drug cartels and have become a sewer infested with gangs and drugs.
