I agree, but that isn’t the point here is it? Yes, she’s very lovely, but that isn’t the point here either.
She’s receiving support here on FR because:
1- Though she’s black, she’s not following lock-step with the other 99% of her race to support Obama.
2- Though she’s a hollywood-type, she’s also not sucumbing to the tremendous pressure to conform politically there either.
3- After being vilified, and perhaps losing whatever career opportunities she had in Hollywood, she refuses to apologize or back down for her support to a Republican.
It is for those reasons that she is being supported by many Freepers - along with the fact that she’s not bad to look at either.
I think we would be supporting her even had she been an elderly actress whose looks were long gone - the point is she made an open stand for a Republican in spite of the pressure to conform to the racial, hollyweird political correctness to support Obama. That is worth a word of encouragement, don’t you think?
IMHO, that is flawed logic. I'm not saying that she is a good role model or anything but at the same time...You can't apply the daughter/sister criteria to every female you see. When you first met your wife, did you think, "Ugh! If my sister smiled at me like that it'd be disgusting!"? I doubt it.
Similarly, I doubt your father-in-law was overly glad to see his daughter making eyes at you. But you were happy, right? You didn't say "If I was your father I'd disapprove!"
