This is nearly unbelievable, given the howling of their liberal base about the ad. You know that they do some type of focus group testing of these things before they air, so that begs the question, “who did they focus this on? what group are they trying to reach with the ad?”

They got both Reagan and Newt Gingrich to back down on de-funding NPR with this approach. So of course they just assumed it would work again.
