There is not a single older, elite athlete, who has not used performance enhancing drugs to compete against younger athletes, except maybe in golf. I don’t know much about golf. Heck, steroid an equalizer, steroids ensure an equal starting point regardless of age. How the heck do you think someone could come back from cancer treatment and return to elite competition against much younger men?

The point is that no one really cares.

Did he really have cancer? Or was that just a pretext to take testosterone?

Hey, here’s a novel idea. Maybe the older athletes don’t need to stay competitive forever. Maybe they could retire gracefully and pass the torch to the younger guys, so those guys would have the same opportunity to succeed and make a name for themselves that the old guys did.

Or they could just keep cheating, and you could have fun rooting for your favorite geriatric athletes.
