WASHINGTON — The Obama administration’s handling of the Libya attack has opened up a new front in the presidential campaign just weeks before Election Day, as Republicans seize on it to question the president’s performance as commander in chief.
The dispute over the episode escalated after Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. said during the debate on Thursday night that “we weren’t told” that Americans on the ground wanted security bolstered, despite testimony that requests were made to and turned down by the administration. Mitt Romney’s campaign on Friday accused the vice president of trying “to mislead the American public.”
For President Obama, who had counted on foreign policy as a political strength, the issue has put him on the defensive, while Republicans who had focused on the economy now see a chance to undercut his credibility with the public on national security.
The political back-and-forth over Libya comes as the administration tries to get a more definitive picture on the Benghazi attack and figure out a potential response. An investigation is looking into what was known in advance and how the government acted.

Is it possible the pres and VP were not informed of the truth? This would point to Hillary. The so-called Intellegence BELONGED to Hillary!
The biggest travesty here is that there should be a reaction from our government, a reaction that has a punitive, unabashed retaliatory flavor. Though boots on the ground would preferable to me, this reaction doesn’t have to be military. The lack of a response is putting all our people overseas, civilians too, in danger.
What will deter them from doing this again? Apparently, there are no consequences. This administration even makes excuses for them.
IIRC it wasn’t just Republicans who were questioning the President’s performance in this area.

Not to mention the fact that later in the same debate the VP insinuated that they would know when the Iranians had a atomic missile posing a threat. Surely he must have been talking about a different intelligence agency?
I wish more details were available, like where did the weapons used in benghazi attack come from? Were they US supplied weapons. Is this Fast and Furious: MiddleEast?

Let me guess. Maybe the intel information that led to Bin Laden was developed during the Bush administration, and the 0bama administration is not deveoping new intel because they kill rather than capture terrorists.

If Obama had to clear it with Valerie Jarrett to go after Bin Laden, maybe he had to clear it with her to do something to help in Libya. Maybe the screwup is that he’s incapable of making a tough decision.

Who was the first to charactorize the consulate attack as a reactionary protest to the CA cartoon video? Either, or............
1. Neither Hillary nor Obama viewed the on-sight, real time video for days and days.
2. They saw the video, but buried their knowledge of the LIVE video’s existence, and the truth and accuracy that it contained for a reason.
3. The mysterious origin of the protest/video theme was already out ofbthe barn.

WOW! I heard Lamb say she was watching the attack - LIVE - but I thought it was from on-site cameras at the consulate .. not a drone.
And if they had time to launch a drone .. what amount of advance knowledge did they have that the attack was going to take place ..???
And .. if they knew it was going to take place .. why would they just watch and not do anything to save our Ambassador and his staff member ..??? Plus the two Seals who tried to come to the rescue of the Ambassador - but were caught in the melee. To watch and do nothing was CRIMINAL.
For me .. I still can’t shake the idea that it was the Obama/Biden stooges who planned and executed the making of the “video”, with the objective of having a ready-made excuse for the terrorist attack the stooges already knew was coming. I’m even going to go so far as to say I believe it may have been a Jarrett/Axelrod operation .. in order to make Obama look unconnected with the attack .. unconnected to another “terrorist attack” upon America on a 9/11.
My premise is reached because immediately both Obama and Hillary made this statement, “... We had nothing to do with this video”. Hmmmmm ..?? Both of them said it continually, even spending $70,000 to produce a commercial to espouse the idea “we had nothing to do with the ‘video’”. Geeeee .. is somebody protesting too much ..??
Also, as soon as the “film maker” was arrested - I was even more convinced of the admin’s involvement .. because I questioned .. was this action a way to hide the guy from the media ..?? And/or, to keep the film maker from exposing the fact the “video” was a ruse from the get-go!!
What? In what alternate fantasy universe? The foreign policy of the 0bama administration has been rudderless, reactionary, feckless and incompetent in nearly every particular, from weird enthusiasms for Arab Spring in Libya, Egypt, and Syria, to a cringe-making apology tour that served only to set the President of the United States up as better than his own country. It has been populated by rank amateurs such as Hillary Rodham Clinton, laughed at by our enemies such as Putin, our ostensible friends such as the Saudis, while offending our real friends such as the Brits. It is the signature mark of the transcendence of celebrity in American politics over substance, of marquee glitter over actual qualification, of sizzle over steak.
One struggles to find an instance in recent history of a foreign policy morass quite this odoriferous. Jimmy Carter's people had nothing on this gaggle of university brats and two-bit ideologues whose entire depth of qualification consists of an earnest belief that the People Who Count in other countries are (1) just like them, and (2) willing to subordinate the interests of their own countries in the face of internationalist fantasies. Their ineptitude has cost our country lives, fortunes, and they wouldn't know sacred honor if it stared them in the face.
