Let me explain;
All thought processes are polarized.
There is no up without a down,
No hot without cold,
No out unless there's an in,
No right without wrong.
So it is not Romney's surge so much as it is an obvious compare/contrast determination.
We've had the wolf in sheeple's clothing for four years and along comes a real one.
Voila !!
“We’ve had the wolf in sheeple’s clothing for four years and along comes a real one.”
And here I thought it was because people, like me, can’t watch our LIAR in chief without vomiting. I don’t want to spend the next 4 years in the bathroom and neither do they.
Sunday Good Morning News!
I saw clinton coming from 6 months before he was elected, but he slid in and stayed on HIS particular brand of boojit.
We here in FR all saw zero from the beginning ... I especially from the DNC speech in 2000.
Don't disregard how powerful charisma is and zero has it ... superficially, but he has it.
zero has been easier to unmask and unseat than clinton.
Nice thread! Just waiting on the anti-morman cultists to show up! If they do please just hit them!! I will check back later..LOL
“zero has been easier to unmask and unseat than clinton.”
Yes. And this is why I refute the recent claims I hear that Her Ickiness, the Mrs., would have been better than Ob. Whether true or not, she’d have been worse as she and the MR. would have gotten another 4 yrs.
That’s one thing they’re good at.
Ob is better at turning everything into a mess and coming out looking like a fool and dragging more people into the blame circle. And that, by the way, is a non discriminatory circle.
We’re electing a president, not a preacher, but if it DOES come up, Mormons have a better history of morality and decency than not and certainly than islamists.
I stopped at
“What it mocks are (1) conspiracy theorists who spin bizarre tales about the president, . . .” and “Knocking the nutters about is pretty easy stuff though funny, . . .”
Typical mushy R. Hewitt, the oh-so evenhanded fan of Mike Allen and Politico.
To Hewitt, “nutters” are us.
I stopped listening to HH many moons ago - typical liberal/RINO who believes Political (Allen)/WaPo (Cizilla) are honest journalists.
HH is a foolish idiot.
Thursday night's debate between Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan went according to the super-secret plan of Karl Rove to not only defeat but deeply embarrass the Democratic Party. Rove had previously arranged for President Obama to take two Ambien before the first debate. Not even a maniacal, all-powerful Rove could be blamed for the Democrats decision to attempt to cover-up the details of the terrible tragedy in Benghazi or the serial malfeasances before or after the attack of 9/11 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans --Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods. The collapse of the president in the first debate and the implosion of the vice president in the second were mere political misfortunes, but the murders in Benghazi were horrible personal tragedies and a national nightmare.
I know the debate helped, but I too think it was a question of many people seeing and hearing Romney for the first time and realizing that he doesn’t look like Frankenstein’s monster and can actually utter coherent words. What people on websites like Free Republic have to remember is many voters do not start paying attention until about one month before the election.
I think you hit the nail on the head. We tend to think everyone is a political junky.
The reason for Romney’s surge and the reason that it hasn’t tailed off yet, is that it’s not a surge, but simply the vast majority of voters starting to give some thought to the election and making up their minds.
And when they do that, they always look at the incumbent first and decide if they want more of it, or whether it’s time for a change - they know they have to vote soon.
So nothing special here, Obama only appeared ahead because voters didn’t want to be bothered about the election, until now.
Women who've suffered spousal abuse said they could barely watch the debate-b/c they were unnerved by Bidens antics. They say Biden eerily reminded them of abusive husbands. All the tactics abusive men use to brutalize and demean, to make women feel inadequate and unimportant were the tactics they saw Biden use:
(1) not listening to their side,
(2) interrupting when they dared speak up,
(3) laughing and mugging when they tried to air their grievances,
(4) demeaning and marginalizing them for daring to disagree,
(5) asserting superority to keep them subjugated,
(6) showing contempt when they tried to defend themselves,
(7) being condescending to them and disdainful of their views.
========================================================
Women were unsettled by Bidens behavior. Those who say Biden won the debate-must be all men.
===============================================
AFTER THOUGHT Probably best to keep talkin' up Biden w/ fem-lib talk----b/c it makes Dems go ballistic----and b/c more and more women will see Team Obama for what they really are---a bunch of phonies.
Women need to ask themselves---who would they rather see come home for dinner--smiling/abusive Biden or soft-spoken, working-class Ryan?
I think Romney has ALWAYS been ahead. I think the polls were bi-assed, and the Bradley effect will be on a massive scale (Bradley effect didn’t occur in 2008 because whites wanted to assuage their guilt, and B. Hussein appeared to be a Bill Clinton without the Interns). In 2012, there’s going to be such a massive, cathartic sweeping out of Democrats the MSNBC commentators will pour gasoline on themselves and self-immolate.
I don’t think Romney was always ahead so much as Obama was always behind. When an incumbent polls conisistanly below 50% it means most people don’t want to reelect him. They just hadn’t settled on Mitt as an acceptable alternative. Now most have, and more will.
Thank you, Liz, and rest assured that WOMEN watched the debate.
Men were watching the football and baseball play off games!
