The town-hall debate is the one presidential faceoff in which the audience gets to ask the questions.
But don’t tell that to moderator Candy Crowley.
Like any journalist worthy of the assignment, Crowley concedes that the debate on Tuesday night isn’t about her, but she just as eagerly acknowledges her role in it.

I forgot to add, that Crowley’s job is also to anger Romney and try to get him to lose his cool, so that Obama won’t have to do it.
Romney needs to be conciliatory to Candy Crowley and say something like, “Candy, you are really hurting my feelings, with your interruptions, or your partisan questions about my veracity. I came here to debate the President, not you.”
It’s not over till the fat lady sings and Romney will make that communist fat cow Crowly sing on Tuesday.

In reality, if the incumbent is a Republican, they are still in the role of the challenger. See Bush in 2004. Conventional wisdom at the time was that he would lose with the large number of undecideds because the undecideds always break for the challenger.
It didn't happen in 2004 for one reason only: Bush was perceived as the challenger because the media were lined up so solidly behind John Kerry.

I don’t think Mitt will lose his cool the way they think he will lose his cool. He’s a REAL lawyer unlike the twit that will be “debating” against. Bet he has a razor sharp tongue when he needs it AND unlike the twit, a brain to back it up.
