Waiting to hear the official word. The following is from
Radio-Info.com; O&O means owned and operated of course.
Cumulus syndicates Batchelor (not sure of his fate?), Geraldo, Huckabee, and Mark Levin
>>Cumulus will want to put him on as many O&Os as possible so heres a rundown of what programming airs during the live broadcast time of Savages soon-to-be program. In San Francisco, O&Os KGO and KSFO air a local evening news show and its own syndicated John Batchelor program respectively; WABC, New York airs Batchelor; KABC, Los Angeles airs its own syndicated Mark Levin; WLS-AM, Chicago airs the last hour of Premieres Sean Hannity followed by Levin; WMAL, Washington airs Batchelor; WBAP-AM/FM, Dallas airs local host Chris Krok; and WJR, Detroit airs Mark Levin. With Savages program to debut next Tuesday, October 23, look for some programming changes on Cumulus Media O&O talk outlets.
Not sure about Bachelor show. From Wikipedia:
Under John Batchelor:
>>The future of Batchelor’s program was left uncertain when Cumulus Media (who acquired WABC in 2011) announced it had acquired the broadcast rights to The Savage Nation for air in Batchelor’s current time slot beginning October 23, 2012. Whether Batchelor will continue with the weekend edition of the program is unknown.
Under The Savage Nation:
>>The Savage Nation will be revived on Cumulus Media Networks on October 23, the day the non-compete clause expires. It will air in a new timeslot, 9:00 PM to 12:00 midnight Eastern time, replacing the weeknight edition of John Batchelor’s newsmagazine.
I am going to miss Batchelor and Gordon Chang reports of the goings on in the Far East especially Red China -- actually the show was a great source of economic and international news in general.
KSFO has been trumpeting "the most famous radio personality ever is returning to where it all began" -- or something like that.
