I never thought the Libya story had much legs anyway in terms of votes; Americans vote for their self-interests, and this one (and I believe international affairs in general) is fairly low in priorities when people can’t pay basic bills.
International matters are important when people aren’t kept awake at night by domestic concerns. FWIW, Romney can certainly point out that there is no part of the world that is in better shape than when Obama took office.
Americans don’t like to see their embassies burned and diplomats tortured, raped and murdered. And they don’t like to see the Administration lie ineptly and try and cover up what happened.
Particularly when there were months of warnings and requests
for more security from the Ambassador. He was begging for more security and got less.
When this is added to the Fast and Furious scheme this will be plenty for R to make The Disaster lie and sweat.
Israel and Syria are additional easy ones not to mention Iran. Romney’s question is “Do you trust this administration to safely handle these problems, an administration that has bungled horribly in Libya and Egypt already?”
