Iowa Democratic Party Chair: 'Nobody Feels' 2008 Enthusiasm

Democrats and even polling organizations have assumed enthusiasm for President Barack Obama's candidacy in Iowa would match 2008's level, but the chair of the Iowa Democratic Party admits that will not be the case this year.

Sue Dvorsky, chairwoman of the Iowa Democratic Party, when asked if Obama was replicating 2008's voter enthusiasm in the state, said that was hardly the case.

“Nobody feels that," Dvorsky said in an interview with Bloomberg News last week.

Anyone who was enthusiastic for Hussein in 2008 should do the right thing in 2012...stay home.

All the polls are BS - and here is a Rat telling us the love and adoration for the One simply isn’t there.

Four years ago you would have loved him like Christ! Its nothing like that today.

And life - like the word, goes on.

This is why I think we have Ohio. The polls are sampling Dems at enthusiasm rates eclipsing 2008. I expect this year the party breakdown will be no worse than D+2. It will probably be R+2.

The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you'll be sorry someday

The thrill is gone
It's gone away from me
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although, I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be

I mean every single Ohio poll I have seen show the Independents breaking by about 10% more for Romney, and GOP enthusiasm higher by 10-15% points over Obama. There is no way the Dems will hit anywhere near the numbers they posted in 2008.

I was wondering how close the polls were in all of the 2010 races. Did the polls indicate it was going to be a blowout?

I am thinking this election will be 2010 Part 2.

Once Americans saw Obama minus the MSM "filter," the campaign nosedived and is on the verge of going into a death spiral. It didn't help that Obama had that disastrous appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Romney had a sensational speech at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundatino Dinner.

The lame-stream will give it one last try — after the last debate they will manufacture a Zero bounce. More over-sampling of Dims. They will desperately try to fire up Dims to vote on Election Day by making them believe it is really close. JUST LIKE THEY DID FOR THE WISCONSIN RECALL. And that race was over about an hour after the counting began.

I am a professor in Iowa. During the last election, Obamafever was high on campus. Kids had buttons on their backpacks, they were excited about the election, Obambi had come to town several times and they were all hyped up.

Now, though I know some of my students will vote for O, I don’t see the buttons, I don’t hear political chatter in the student lounge, nothing.

What I do hear is students wondering whether they were going to have a job - and these are graduate students being trained for specific jobs. We’ve also seen it in a drop in applications. People hesitate to go back to school and take out loans if they don’t think they can pay them back. I’m not saying folks should take out a lot of loans, I’m just saying that when the jobs market is good, people will take risks. Now, no one wants to risk anything.

'Nobody Feels' 2008 Enthusiasm

WRONG!

Almost ALL Republicans and most Independents definitely feel the '2008 Engthusiasm.' I can't wait to vote the bastard and sasquatch out.

I stopped at Home Depot in Sunnyvale, CA yesterday on the way home from work. There was a very nice young black man, about 20 or so, assisting at the self-checkout counter. I had a quite a few items to bag, but there were no bags at the checkout — I then remembered that Sunnyvale banned plastic bags. I complained about idiotic government regs and he then showed me a new instruction sheet at his counter announcing a new environmental fee on all paint sold. We began chatting about government overreach and how it was costing everybody much more money to comply with all the mandates. He commented that the government interference was growing and a room he remodeled with his Dad cost more because of all the regs. I then asked him “Who are you voting for” and he responded “I’m thinking about Romney. I voted for Obama last time, but I don’t like the change.” I tell you, I was shocked! On leaving, I told him “You are a good thinking young man” and he smiled.
