Rasmussen Daily: SUN: 10/21: R:49% O:47% Obama -16%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 10/21/2012 | Rasmussen Reports

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 49% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 47%. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided. See daily tracking history.

These numbers are unchanged from the morning of the second presidential debate. They suggest that the president’s stronger performance in that debate stopped his slide in the polls but did not regain lost ground. The first debate had a bigger impact, changing the race from a two-point Obama advantage to a two-point Romney edge. Still, the race remains too close to call with just over two weeks to go.

Team RR keeps its lead. This sample has two weekend days (FRI and SAT) which some people believe are unfriendly to Republicans

This sample is also completely post debate. In fact this sample is also fully post the WED "spin" when the MSM declared President Obama the winner

So, some good stability for Team RR.

Tomorrow is the last debate. With the exception of "October Surprises" (listed below), that will be the last major event to move the polls (if any). At this point, as Gov Romney said, "the cake is baked". The schedule for the final 2 weeks of campaigning is mostly rock solid (although it could include Team RR expanding the campaign to MI, PA, OR etc). Also, the ad spend is mostly set (again, could be expanded)

The October surprises as of now, consist of the following SPECULATIONS

1. President Obama announces a "deal" with Iran, that may consist of either an agreement or may allow for "direct talks" (This is VERY likely)

2. President Obama launches military action in Libya (or possibly elsewhere) in "retaliation" for our Ambassador's murder

3. "Dirty Tricks" leak from Gloria Allred

4. Retaliatory leak from Donald Trump

The good news rolls on... Sunday is going to be fun.

Watch the Dems twist into pretzels on the talk show circuit re: benghazi. Then football all day.

Wake up tomorrow and only 15 days to go... with Romney surging.

Not in my wildest dream. Life is good right now.

“Obama earns the vote from 47%”

Why does that sound familiar?...........

SoFlo,

Tatown does the daily posting of that thread as soon as it is allowed for public viewing by Rasmussen.

Stay tuned!

I will also link to his thread on this thread.

Cheers!

Bath House Barry wasn't going to get any new votes from his "win" in last Tuesday's debate. If anything, tomorrow's debate will be the one where Romney totally eviscerates him. Bob Schieffer can't meddle as much as Candy Crowley did, plus Romney can hammer BH Barry on the USAmbassadorAndThreeOthersSlaughteredByMuslimTerrorists-gate Scandal.

Bath House Barry will be a cowering baby on the floor, curled up under the podium, whimpering, "help me bob, help me" over and over.

“Marxist stuck at 45-47%. 16 days to go. Game over”

Only if the Marxist is trending the same in Ohio which is all that matters.

....and the 4% undecided number has been consistent. That is almost unprecedented with this much time left.

You and tatown do good work with the Rasmussen posts... I’m a Ras member so I get to see it about 15 minutes before public posting. I was anxiously awaiting your post. LOL!

Yeah, I am a member too, but I can’t post it till he links it (anywhere :)) on his site.

I don’t want FR in any trouble. Sometimes, I think about doing a private FR mail to all of you fellow junkies just to let you know what is coming

Agreed. OH big. But I think a close read at both the OH polls and the LS figures and it’s in the Romney bag. Also, 52-47 (1% other) is a certain Romney electoral college victory.

I would wager that many of the "undecided" in this case are those who vote Democrat and are deciding whether to stay home, vote in all but the Presidential election, or hold their nose and vote Romney.
