SANTA CRUZ -- Famed activist Angela Davis shared her decades of experience working on social justice issues, namely prisoner rights, with a standing-room only crowd gathered for the 10th annual Practical Activism Conference at UC Santa Cruz.
Davis, 68, who is considered a celebrity of sorts among the university crowd, was chosen as the conference's keynote speaker on Saturday largely for the radical actions she under took during the 1960s.
Davis held membership with the Communist Party, aligned herself with the Black Panthers and was named to the FBI's Most Wanted list for an alleged role in the murder of a Marin County judge in 1970, which she was acquitted.
She's become one of the most well-known female scholars in the country for championing civil liberties and speaking out on class, race, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.
Davis, an East Bay resident who retired in 2008 after 17 years as a professor at UCSC, drew a standing ovation as she approached the conference podium.

I don’t think 4 years will be enough. Heck there are still clintonistas still in place that haven’t been excorcised yet. Day one, suspend all EO’s issued by uncle obie until they are “vetted”. Then trash them anyway. Suspend funding to the EPA, suspend any further contributions to the UN, put a hold on obiecare. The list just goes on and on. Probably take 2 days to do all the needed items.

What scholarly work is attributed to her? She is a communist hack who has no ideas other than totalitarian. The Black Panthers were and are a fascist bunch of extortionists who masquerade as social justice advocates.
