Shooting reported near Brookfield Square Mall (Wisconsin "mass casualty" situation)

WISN 12 News has learned that a mass shooting has taken place near the Brookfield Square Mall.

WISN 12 News has been told that this is a "mass casualty" situation and that the scene is not secured.

The employee who spoke to Patch said the woman’s estranged husband was out of work and his wife was working every day to bring in money to pay the bills. However, she recently decided to leave him, and that’s when the problems started.

The two have two daughters, ages 12 and 21, the Azana employee told Patch.

“Authorities have retracted an earlier statement, saying that the suspected shooter is not African-American, but is “ethnic with dark skin.”

The suspected shooter is also more than 200 lbs, but may not be as heavy-set as authorities said earlier.”

David Gosh, of West Allis, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he was driving past when they saw a woman coming from the salon and the shooter chasing her before the shooter ran into the building or behind the building.

“She ran right out into the street and was pounding on cars,” Gosh told the Milwaukee newspaper.

Even in our relatively decent-size city where not that much happens, we’ve had a string of events lately we normally don’t see - long-distance chases with one still at large and another resulting in the perp being shot dead, people burned in their homes or apartments, murders...last night, a bunch of Asians got into a fight and some stabbing happened with one dead as a result. Our LEO have been kept busy.

It’s not usually blacks doing these killings because most blacks aren’t STUPID ENOUGH to go on these psych drugs, or put their kids on them...or don’t have the health benefits to have someone pay for them.

Same reason black suicides are much lower than whites.

TODAY’S TMJ4 is reporting that 45-year-old Radcliffe Haughton from Brown Deer is sought for the shooting in Brookfield.

- Seven people have been transported from the scene of the shooting to area hospitals including Froedtert Hospital. 

Four people were said to have non life-threatening injuries. 

The other three people are in unknown condition.



12:37 p.m.

Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jodi Becker is on scene.

- She reports that authorities are searching for a 6'1", 270 lb. African-American with a bald head and brown eyes wearing an Omama For America t-shirt. 

He was reportedly driving a black 2003 Mazda.

Authorities believe he may be from Brown Deer.

She says Flight for Life has also gone to the scene to assist the injured.



12:32 p.m.

Here's what we have so far:

- Brookfield Police say they are looking for a suspect after shootings at a hair salon near Brookfield Square Mall Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 11:00.



- Multiple witnesses tell him and our news team that the shootings happened either at or near the Azana Salon and Spa, across Moorland Road from the mall.


- A number of stores have gone on lockdown inside Brookfield Square.

TODAY'S TMJ4's Todd Hicks was first on scene. 


He reports that ambulances have gone to the scene while SWAT Team members were searching for a shooter.
