Running for office as a devoted wife and mother of two sons besides Sunday school teacher, Amy Biviano’s campaign has been rocked by the revelation of her appearance in Playboy.
The dictionary definition of hypocritical is the “pretense of having virtues, beliefs, principles, etc.” Many politicians are well described by this adjective; but in 2012, none deserves it more than Amy Biviano.
Biviano has worked hard to transform her image from a Yale educated anthropologist and self-avowed feminist into a suburban mom with an adoring husband.
This is how she describes herself on her own website:
“I am a long-time Spokane Valley resident, a mother, and small business owner… I grew up in a small, close-knit town in Oklahoma, the daughter of a farmer and a public school teacher. I met my husband Andrew in 1993, on our first day of freshman year at Yale University, and we married two months after graduation. We moved to Andrew’s hometown of Spokane Valley in 2001, deciding that it is the ideal place to raise our family. We have now been married almost 15 years and have two incredible sons: Alex, age 13, and Aidan, age 11…I am an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where I teach Sunday school and serve on the finance committee.”
What she doesn’t share in her bio is her work as a model for Playboy. She appeared in the October 1995 issue of the Men’s soft porno magazine as part of a special spread on “The Women of the Ivy League.”
Amy Biviano until now has been a darling of the Democratic Party in Washington State. After serving as the Chairman of the Democrats in Spokane County, she is now locked in a race to unseat conservative favorite Representative Matt Shea in the 4th Legislative District which stretches across the Spokane Valley.
Usually a conservative stronghold, this year, liberals on the state redistricting committee have redrawn the 4th district lines to make it competitive for Amy Biviano.
Ironically, a central theme of her campaign has been repeated demands that Representative Shea tell all about his past. She is referring to Shea’s divorce from first wife Lisa. This is well-trod turf with Democrats and the local liberal media bringing up his divorce in every one of his earlier campaigns. They claim that the breakdown of his first marriage is fair game because Representative Shea is the Legislature’s biggest opponent of gay marriage.
It is appropriate since she is demanding answers from Shea’s past that she fully disclose her own. She tells Playboy in the interview that accompanies the photo spread that she is a feminist, saying, “I wanted to pose for Playboy to show that we’re not asexual man-haters.” She also told Playboy that her future plans as an Anthropologist included a desire to study sex in other cultures around the globe.
None of her high profile work as a Playboy model is in her currently-posted biography. Her attempts to hide this episode in her life from voters’ view until now have come to an end

But, I actually have principles and am tired of being treated like a cheap $2 whore female democrat senate candidate and having such wonderful options as Dole, McCain't, and Romney.....ie unprincipled RINO bastards - ergo I'm going to sit this one out. Since I made a snarky comment about Myth, I'm sure there are some on here dying to give me their patented sheeple arguments for why Myth Romney should be voted for, so I'll lay them out to save everyone time.....
Yes, yes, I know FR math; a non-vote for Romney is a vote for 0bama because 0+1 always = 2.
Oh and of course the NRA has endorsed Mittens (because the NRA has such a stellar reputation and we are supposed to believe that even though Myth supported the assault weapons ban, that now equals Myth is conservative and understands "shall not be infringed").
Myth is suddenly pro-lifeer than he was previously because "health of a woman" cannot be manipulated into abortion on demand.
I should remember that 0bama worships a fake pedophile "prophet" and moon "god," but should forget Myth puts on his magic underpants, follows a fake "prophet" with magic rocks and believe he [Myth] will one day become a "god."
Let us not forget that a Myth win will now will set up Paul Ryan in 2020, which logic brought us President McCain and due to his age we are trying to elect Vice President Palin as POTUS in this election......oh wait
And of course Congressional Republicans will "hold Myth's feet to the fire" and make him more conservative because they have a proven track record with Scott Brown, and of course because we are to forget it was the Republicans that voted against the bailout, waited till it was loaded up with even more pork and then voted FOR the bailout because they are fiscally conservative. Yeah, those "conservative" republicans.
And of course I should vote for him because if I don't vote for socialist Myth Romney in order to get rid of socialist 0bama, I am somehow a socialist.
Yes, I will stipulate there would probably have been retaliation in Libya for our Ambassador getting killed if Myth was POTUS, but considering Myth believes we should be arming "rebels" [read Al-Qa'ida] in Syria to fight Asad's tanks, I'm not so sure he would be willing to fight against HIS new found allies. I on the other hand, have spent the last 10 years fighting Al-Qa'ida and not so willing to forgive and forget......the shrapnel in my lung makes that a little difficult. Now, arming both sides and letting them massacre each other - I wouldn't have a problem with that, but that isn't Myth's stance.
Yeah, I think that about covers the arguments usually seen on here, as well as, the Romney platform -'I suck less, and if that doesn't get your vote fear will because I have no other platform to run on.'
Call me when the GOP is interested in running a conservative and I'll think about supporting their candidates with votes and money again. Call me when they have something of substance to run on. Conservative principles weren't the GOP's priority, so I guess my vote isn't either.
Until then, I am finalizing my plans to go Galt and I really don't give two ##### what kind of hell the rest of the public votes for themselves. I don't care about the unemployment rate or the price of tea in China; half the public should've thought about that before they voted in their 0bamessiah and the GOP should've though about that before they nominated another 'his turn' GOPE candidate. And until the Charlie Brown (R) voters realize the GOPE Lucy is going to keep pulling away the football; the GOP will not, and has no reason to, change. - Have fun y'all.
