O'Brien to Giuliani: "Stop putting words in my mouth;" interviews him about U.S. Consulate..
CNN ^ | October 22, 2012

CNN Anchor Soledad O’Brien interviews former Mayor Rudy Giuliani about whether or not he still thinks that the administration was involved in a cover-up, regarding the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya. She then points out that ABC News Political Contributor Matthew Dowd said that it took President George W. Bush years to correct the weapons of mass destruction argument that originally justified the invasion Iraq. O’Brien asks former Mayor Rudy Giuliani if it is unfair to expect answers about what happened in Libya so soon.

Giuliani asks, “So, we’re going to blame this on Bush, too?”

O’Brien says, “You’ve got to stop putting words in my mouth, sir. Seriously, hang on. Let me finish. Because every time I ask you a question –"

Giuliani says, “Well, I want to answer the question.”

O’Brien says, “And let me finish my point. Every time I ask you a question you like to push back as if somehow the question that’s being posed to you is unfair. It’s not. I’m a journalist. You said some things. I’m trying to get some accurate responses from you. You are welcome to answer. Go ahead.”

Who knows what is in his deranged little mind, but it is a scary situation to have that imbecile in Power.

What I don't get: They say Romney is weak on Foreign Policy.

YET: The imbecile community organizer from Chicago (or wherever) IS?

UH! Does deserting those 4 Dead men in Benghazi count?

What rational parent, Dem, Rep, or Ind., would want their child serving under such an bungling Idiot as Obama? No matter if he acted out of stupidity or on purpose, HE FAILED, 4 men died and he callously lies about it. Could have been my child.

That is what VOTER's must or should be thinking about (their child next?)

My response would have been: Are you asking me a question or making a point? Doesn't a "journalist" ask questions, not make points?

“...people wring their hands when they thought the... terrorists might get their hands on weapons of mass destruction, although I know Syria had them on their own.”

Syria has (had?) a very roubust chemicals weapons program, one they built long before the Iraq war. Their stockpiles are some of the largest in the Middle East. Syria never needed Iraqi chemical weapons. That’s why I’m bemused by the ‘hand-wringers’, as you call them, on Free Republic who can be counted on like clockwork to start bleating out the “Iraqi chemical weapons” line in Syria threads.

I don’t think Iraq’s weapons were moved for the benefit of Syria, although both countries were Baath party controlled and their self-interests were partially linked. I think the reason was to make the US invasion look like a mistake and unnecessary. The media took the ball and ran with it. But I believe I have read where we have military units waiting in Jordan to sweep in and take control of stockpiles in case the Syrian government fell. So all the hand-wringers aren’t Freepers. They are from all over, including in our government.

My main point was, it was never shown to my satisfaction that Iraqi WMD did not exist, but I tend to believe they were moved to Syria. We know that Saddam used chemical weapons on the Kurds and I think we would have seen evidence if he had destroyed them.

That isn’t about hand wringing that Syria has them it’s about countering the lie that Iraq had no WMDs.

“That isn’t about hand wringing...”

I was simply quoting the previous poster.

“...it was never shown to my satisfaction that Iraqi WMD did not exist...”

We agree and you make the proper point in that context, but in the “WMD in the hand’s of Syrian terrorists” context, I am simply pointing out that Syria has penty of WMDs to go around and never really needed Saddam’s.
