Eekyl, I don’t mind a little weather, but having several inches of rain with 75+ mph winds with shallow-rooted 100 ft trees surrounding the house is enough to set my teeth chattering a bit.
I worry about the roof and my wood-frame house, associated tornado threat. Being without power for a week or two or three (as happened with Izzy) is no picnic.
No Jamaican crews here to help an old man clean up.
There was a steady stream of electric utility trucks headed north past here into Virginia and beyond when I was out and about earlier today, if that helps to reassure you at all.
