I never go to concerts any more, but about 5 years ago Meatloaf made a stop in Hamilton, Ontario, and I went to see him - he was great.
Everyone in the audience was my age (fifties) and they had a good time. Like a bat out of hell.
Meatloaf AGAIN?!?
Holy Cow! I love the Phil Rizzutto play-by-play in the song. I forgot how awesome and accurate this song was about life.
How do you post those youtubes?
I have Meatloaf “I would do anything for love (but I won’t do that)
ah Meatloaf, the most beloved of all loaves.
“mid fifties where does that put me”
==
Very young from my perspective.
.
Also, “Travis P Redfish” in the 1980 movie Roadie. He plays a Texas good ‘ol boy.
His classic line is (after waking up on a plane after getting drunk and passing out) is to ask where he is. He’s told that he’s in LA. He replies “What the hell am I doing in Louisiana?”
mid-fifties here too and I know who Meatloaf is, you should too! Bat of a Hell album, best selling record of all time??? On the radio all the time in the late 70’s...

Oh, I love that guy. I truly love the utter passion he put into his serious songs, like “It’s All Coming Back To Me.” Something about that plain, heavy, middle-aged face riven with emotion is a hundred times more involving than some pretty, inexperienced, half-gay young singer, because there’s no question he’s a real man.

Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee Aday, September 27, 1947), known by his stage name Meat Loaf
You pre-empted me. That was exactly what I was gonna write, but I checked just in case someone else got that in first.
You know one of my friends said it was because I was in law school then, I don’t know, I did love Fleetwood Mac, now can’t tolerate them, knew about Peter Frampton, Michael Jackson, The Who, Paul McCartney and Wings, even Jethro Tull, M-TV, Madonna, Billy Ocean ....I don’t know, just missed some of them I guess.
Now I am a big Hank Jr and Jamey Jackson fan, so obviously my tastes changed !
55 here, well for 18 more days..love your post! LOL
The entire first Album was magnificent. I think my favorite was “For Crying Out Loud”. One of the most beautiful love songs of all time.
You know what? the first time I ever heard of Mariah Carey and that she had more number ones than the Beatles, I had no freakin clue who she was, still wouldn’t know one of her songs if it was blaring in my bedroom.............
