Then come out and say it, in plain english EXACTLY what happened. A pissed off nation isn’t slightly interested in his BS political dance that “implies” this, and “hints” at that. He knows the whole story but is giving us half truths. A half truth is a full lie.
Petraeus,, remember your oath and stop being a coward. Your career, or even your freedom for speaking of secrets, is still a FAR lower price than the one those SEALS paid.

If Patraeus says he didn’t make the call, then who did?
What more does he need to say?
We do not want a situation where the director of the CIA goes rogue on the president. He’s limiting his input in the interest of maintaining that distance.
Congress is where this belongs. If he’s called, he can answer their questions in a formal setting. That’s how I’d rather see it play out.
