That portion of PA in the hurricane’s path is highly Democrat. Not to worry....

Let’s assume you are correct that people don’t get out to vote.

They mostly won’t get out to vote in New York City, Philadelphia, Trenton, Newark, Baltimore, etc....

How does that help Obama??

It’s double edged.

gives him chance to act presidential...but he loses time in swing states out of the path like Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota..maybe, and Nevada

and the weather doesn’t help less motivated turnout

this storm will likely cause damage but it will still not meet expectations...it’s just too damned cold the closer to land it gets

God bless you yankees but lord amighty...they do this every storm that runs at 75 longitude environs

all the hype...it sells airtime

and the folks who determine the news are in the path

you can have minor devastation up there and it’s headline news for weeks

down here...Mississippi Gulf Coast has been destroyed for 7 years for a stretch of 30 miles anywhere from 200 yards to a half mile inland and 1000s dead...it will not be the same for generations...hell it took 30 years to recover from Camille

and other than going on about New Orleans blacks and the racism of the storm response...it’s over dead and stinking

Nashville flood...same thing

but a minor storm hits the media concentrated Northeast and it’s time for a post apocalyptic movie with Denzel Washington in it over it all

I hope large numbers are not harmed...likely some flooding and snow but it ain’t gonna be 1938

America is not just about the Hudson

I lived in Manhattan during a cat 1 hurricane...crazy views from my terrace new Union Square...and a lot of rain...that was about it

Manhattan is a fairly high rock

I think that real Americans will swim across the flood waters after they crawl over broken glass and walk barefoot over hot coals to vote against the lying communist. That’s what I think.

We have a winner! I predict it will do nothing and wash out to sea, not the storm of the century as NOAA an Obama gov agency and the media say.

Dude — the storm is going to be gone almost a week before Election Day.

Exactly! And who are the incumbents in most of these states who will face their judgement by The People on election day?

If I were a democrat governor I'd be making sure that this storm is nothing but a small bump in the road that will be all cleared ASAP.

If they play politics with post-Sandy they may be seen as incompetent on Election Day.

I can see Obama trying to use the storm as an excuse to “postpone” the election, perhaps indefinitely (or at least try).

Some people just can not see success coming at them.

This “storm” may depress some votes, but the enthused will find a way to vote and the un-enthused will not find it convienent. Which candidate has the enthused voters? Not nobama!

Additionally, its the nobama campaign that is pulling all stops to get even Holder’s People to bother voting.

This election will be at least as bad as 2008, in reverse.

Right now sandy takes bengazi off drudge off of news. Most of data and forecasts by NOAA (an Obama government agency). NOAA says it will take a sharp left turn and be the storm of the century. I say this will be nothing and wash out to sea. but we should all trust Obama gov agencies when Obama needs this most but not a freeper

I wish people would get a frigging grip. If you’re so damned worried about the outcome of this election, log off your computer and do something productive.

You seriously believe that? There are thousands of private meterologists who are seeing the same satellite data, vortex messages from the Hurricane Hunters and model runs that NOAA is seeing. Your claim that this is all fake is akin to claims that the approach of Elenin could be covered up by the government. It simply doesn’t hold up to the slightest informed analysis.

"...it may impact some trick-or-treater’s on Halloween though."

Here in Rome, NY, this is the first year we haven't had snow by Halloween. Usually we get a heavy, wet snowstorm on, or just before the 31st.

I live in Maine and I just don't see how they are so convinced (as they have been for days) that this storm will turn left at the right time to hit New York City (The world's favorite, most America's populated, unofficial capital of the United States).

That may be where they are hyping the storm. How do they know the storm is not going to go northeast a bit longer before turning left and hitting more north of NYC (perhaps Boston or even Portland, Maine?)

Hitting New York City makes the news more interesting and attracts more viewers than it would hitting Manchester, New Hampshire.

If they get this hit correct I'll give them credit for accuracy but they seem to have had this storm hitting New York very very early on when it was still in Jamaica.

This storm illustrates one of the great advantages of the “Electoral College”.

We are a Republic, not a democracy.

Each state will be effected on both sides of the ballot by any storm or disaster.

IF we elected by “popular vote” for POTUS?

The Dems might have an argument.

However, These States will STILL vote for Obama.

It might make the popular vote look better for Romney but that does not matter accept when we want to rub their noses in it!

It’s coming ashore in the midst of the most liberal part of the country. And probably the cities will take longer to recover than the countryside.

This should help the Republicans.

I wouldn’t venture to pray for a hurricane that may kill innocent people, but I can remember praying for rain on previous election days, because the Dems are likelier to stay home. Especially when they may not want to vote for Romney but are feeling pretty disappointed by Obama.

Look at the "bright side" if they are right and thousands are killed, Obama's October surprise against Romney may be washed out to sea with the post Superstorm coverage.
