Not sure about Sandy. Big storm, yes. Frankenstorm, snow here, not so sure. There will be flooding and it will be windy.
Hope you all will be fine. I’m in Michigan and it’s just really cold here.
We’ll get lots of rain. I imagine we’ll see power outages from high winds in places and of course flooding. We’re out of a flood zone - well, except for the buckets catching the water in our upstairs hallway right now! I have relatives out the eastern end of the state. They’ll get it way worse than us!

Well we are as prepped as we can be (no generator, and only a propane grill for cooking if needed). We have gas logs in our FP...they do throw some heat...I’m expecting lights out. Jus for how long is aha worries me.
I found a really great weather need page on FB. So much info and explanations over there.
Be safe on the way home all my fellow yinzers...we should be getting the start of our high winds about rush hour.
Oh, BTW, there are NO hurricane warnings for areas where Sandy will hit... This is the Obama Regime at work. Is this because of Chris Christie?

I stopped at Walmart at 6:30 this morning to pick up an extra flashlight and batteries. The ladies stocking the shelves told me that customers had almost picked them bare of flashlights. I asked if they came in over the weekend. They replied that it was all THIS MORNING.
I lost my phone and internet service on Friday night, but it obviously wasn’t storm related. Verizon had originally told me they wouldn’t be sending a technician until today (and I was afraid they’d be diverted to storm work), but thankfully one decided to show up yesterday.
Hope you all stay safe and dry out there.
The weather guy on Fox said that the weather service would transition over from calling it a ‘hurricane’ to a ‘nor’easter’, and it would therefore go to more localized warnings. He didn’t really agree with it, but said that they wanted to keep the reporting technically correct - or something like that.
