Republican incumbent Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren both postponed campaigning Monday. Brown and Warren then announced they are pulling out of Tuesday's final debate.

A Brown spokesman said the Republican incumbent decided against the debate "out of concern for the hardship faced by people in the path of Hurricane Sandy."

Just last week, Brown pledged to attend the debate and even offered Warren a ride to the venue in his truck.

"out of concern for the hardship faced by people in the path of Hurricane Sandy."

I don't understand - how does cancelling the debate help those people?

Ah, yes.

Maybe that'll be the next excuse from the WH: by doing nothing and watching they were actually showing those "folks" in Benghazi how much they care!

Wow, that’s great news if it holds! The most recent stuff I had looked at had Brown down by an average of 5 points. If he’s really pulled ahead, maybe there’s hope for Massachusetts yet.

I know a lot of FReepers can’t stand Brown, but I’ll take him every day of the week and twice on Sunday in a deep blue state like MA. He’s got an ACU rating of 54 and he voted against Kagan’s confirmation. That’s worlds more than we’d ever have gotten from whatsherface he ran against last time, or what we’ll get if that nutjob Warren gets in.

Suffolk Poll: Warren up 7 in Mass.

And before all the nay sayers start up, this is the same pollster that pulled out of FL, NC and VA because they said Romney had them in the bag.
