Fed up with calls from telemarketers, Richard Herman of the U.K. issued an ultimatum: Call again and he would start charging 10 pounds (about $16) per minute for his time.

I've gotten a huge number of calls from "Rachel from cardmember services," despite my being on the "do not call list," and despite my repeatedly pressing the option to be taken off of their calling list, and despite my repeatedly asking live operators to stop calling me. No matter which option I choose, "Rachel" refuses to leave me alone.
The Do Not Call List is total BS! I’ve tried to do several formal complaints to the FCC. They dick around for a year or more then they send me a BS letter claiming that they can’t do anything about the calls. The TM’s know that they are safe. one of them said he was in Cancun, Mexico and that I could go F myself! Ditto for Faxes. I’ve had to have all my faxes go into my computer so I don’t waste a ream of paper a month. The FCC is a disgrace, and it got steadily worse after FUBO took over!
Wow! You know Rachel, too. I, only today, for the first time, was given the option to opt out, which I accepted, and then, what do you know, she called again 10 minutes later!
Nice.
As funny as it is, the Brits are less pussies than a lot of American people when it comes to things like the speed-cameras (just google “Gatso burn”).
Wait a minute, there! My first time was with Rachel, too. She said it was her first time. You mean it wasn’t? It was so good, too.
I get that call from Rachel too, so much that I feel she is part of the family. We are on the no call list too. Good for this Brit.
The "do not call" list is perfectly fine as it stands. The problem is that the US authorities can only enforce such a list on companies based in the US (obviously), and most telemarketing these days is sourced from overseas.
Truly? I thought you Americans used speed cameras for target practice, especially in the more rural areas...
Maybe in the rural areas, and I can't say I've not been tempted to .45 the ones in the city, but the Brits have the right idea: kill it with fire!
I wondered why Rachel always has to get up and leave so early every morning! So THAT’S where she’s going!
