First of all, I know Todd personally and there is not a prideful bone/muscle in his body.

Second, if he had stepped down, the GOPe would have replaced him with the candidate of THEIR choosing - not necessarily the person who finished second in the primary.

And third, whoever the GOPe chose to run in Todd's place would not have received votes from many of his supporters (myself included) who wanted him to stay in the race because a) he won, and b) of his long-standing principles and conservative voting record.

Why do conservatives always circle the firing squads on our own? When will we learn to forgive and learn from past mistakes, and move forward into the future? I fear the 2012 election is our last chance to get that right.

Todd Akin for US Senate!!!

AND it would have cost Akin over 200,000 dollars to withdraw and file the paper work PLUS some of the military votes would have been disenfranchised. Akin's record is one of the best in congress. He is more conservative than Mitt Romney. What Priebus, Rove and Cornyn did was wrong. Rove should be fired for his comments on murdering Akin.

Stark difference between the full blown liberal McCaskill and Akin...you can take that to the bank. BTW, Akin is the type of candidate I have fought to represent me..not the type I would ever want to throw out.
