The New York City Marathon is still unsure how it will get its runners to the starting line Sunday, yet another obstacle in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

A day after New York Road Runners President Mary Wittenberg said ferries would again take some entrants to the start on Staten Island, marathon organizers said they might not be used.

Wittenberg had said final transportation plans would be announced Friday morning. Those plans now may not come until Saturday.

How about having the runners run to the starting line?

Ha! That would be too practical. - This is the most IGNORANT thing in the face of this disaster, wasteful, IGNORANT, impractical.

give each one a full gas can first and then the mob with no fuel can chase them.

if God wanted us to run marathons, we’d all be born in Kenya.

What a bunch of morons all around.
Change the name of the event to "Unicorns and Flowers," and reality is cancelled.

The tiny egomaniacs can continue their hedonistic existence without the bother of having to consider destruction, death, disease, starvation, unsheltered hundreds of thousands, but can show off their $500 running shoes.

Total idiots, no other way to see it.

For the record. The first guy to do a marathon walked 26 miles, fought in a battle, then ran the Marathon.

People have become soft.

They should turn it into a Tri-athelon.
First they Swim to the starting line,
then wait in line with an empty gas can.
then run from the howling mob...

BS. Have them run supplies & water out to the storm-affected areas. Move the damned generators, which could supply power to 400 homes, from the libs’ media tents to the storm-affected areas. WTH’s wrong with these deranged, libtard morons in NYC? (Rhetorical question, I know.) Shotguns and ammo should be airlifted into the areas being looted, for the residents. And out-of-state power crews are being cussed-out/turned away because they’re non-union! WTF!
