It is nice to see the comments about Mitt on this thread. There has been so much paranoia over the last few months, it is refreshing. Obviously, his performance will be scrutinized over the next few months, as well it should. I have been intrigued by his many comments of working with both parties and reaching across the isle. That can be both good and ominous. For now, I am praying that the Lord will answer all the prayers of those who love this country and want it preserved as a free country.

The other day we attended a political chile cook-off here in Duncan, Oklahoma. Of interest, there was a video team here for the weekend from SVT, the Swedish Public TV network. They were here in the most Republican of States, and in the most Republican of counties in Oklahoma, to capture the flavor of the local support for Romney.

Naturally, there were a number of local candidates at this event, each with their own table serving their own homemade chile. Coincidentally, that night my wife and I were invited to man the table serving chile for, and representing, the Romney campaign. Anyway, during the event I was interviewed by the Swedish video team. Here is the link to the broadcast. While the broadcast is in Swedish, the video content and interviews are all in English:

You are 100% correct. I just laughed whenI saw that. Nobody is going to change their mind because some fat governor hugged the skinny President. So ridiculous. This obsession with every little nuance is becoming boring.

Agree. I was deeply disappointed with many Freepers tearing this guy down for not being conservative enough. There are days here when I wonder if Reagan would get through to some here.

Applause to Romney for doing it with class. I hope he wins.

He's the same phony he was in the primaries. You sheeple are pathetic.

I can listen to someone who reluctantly votes for this creep. But, anyone who adores him like this is no conservative.

I don’t like Romney’s record on several issues, and I still think there is a danger that once in office, (and I fervently hope he gets there) he will just “shake the Etch-A-Sketch” and govern from a position far left of what he’s run on. I hope I’m wrong and he surprises me.

As to the campaign, I think Mitt left a lot of ammo in the magazine. He was on cruise control after the first debate. He could have hit Obama much harder, but the fear of “alienating undecideds” held him back. That line of thinking is BS, but it is what it is.

In his favor, I think he’s a decent, scandal free man, and Lord knows in that department he’s a light years ahead of the phony, socialist, choom headed flim-flam artist that’s living in the White house now.

If I didn’t have kids there might be a small part of me that would take grim satisfaction in seeing the country get what it voted for good and hard with an Obama second term.

As it is, go, Mitt, go!

I agree. The leftists worship their leaders. Conservatives don’t. And Romney is NOT a conservative.

I’ll be enjoying the total breakdowns of the left tomorrow, though. :)

I believe many here owe apologies to those whom sad Mitt was the guy to do this. he fought Obama straight up and won... he only was put down bythe media and that was an onslaught not many can endure.

My sentiments exactly.

I just voted in Chi-Town (for all the good that will do).

Turnout appears light, but I'm sure nearly 100% will show as having turned out.

Very intimidating: about 10 Obama electioneers standing outside handing out Obama/Biden postcards and a printed list of candidates for which to vote.

One woman marched right up to me and demanded to know who I would vote for.

Feeling the cue ball on a field of eights, I smiled and pointed to the Obama sticker on her coat.

I then voted for RR, of course.

We really are descending into a banana republic.
