What did the framerss of the Constitution mean by the term “natural born citizen?”

In the four years this birther thing has been going around, I don't think either side has conclusively proven what the Framers meant by this, or even if they were of one mind on the issue. However, based on the text of the Constitution itself, where there are only two types of citizens mentioned, I lean towards the idea that a natural born citizen was meant to be understood as one who has not been granted citizenship through naturalization.

USSC despite the so called precedents never ruled on the issue of obama/soetoro and never will so we`ll never know.
