This summer the Supreme Court ruled that the Obama Administrations health care mandates to be constitutional as a tax. Today, the people of the state of Alabama told the Supreme Court to shove it!
In a Majority vote of 56%-44% (with 46% reported), the People of Alabama passed Amendment 6, which reads:
An amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to prohibit any person, employer, or health care provider from being compelled to participate in any health care system.
In the weeks leading up to the vote, there were overwhelming attempts by the media and the so-called political class to make the amendment seem irrelevant.
Many were saying that the vote was of no consequence. But, voters in Alabama stood strong with their beliefs.
Only 15 minutes after the polls closed the Amendment 6, vote was off to an early lead showing 63% in favor, and support held nearly as strong throughout the final count.
Alabama is the 11th state to have passed similar legislation. Missouri and Arizona voters were first and second in 2010. But Alabama is the first to have passed it since the Supreme Court ruling this summer.

I could really care less what the Meth state thinks
fall into the ocean or something
It’s really sad you are allowed to even have children in some of these states
The feds will find other ways to force them, such as by withholding other federal monies. When that becomes an emotionalized campaign issue in the state, the people will change out the state govt for Christie-like RINOs or worse.
For a peaceful, legal states’ rights movement to flourish, a supermajority of people need to love liberty and virtue more than redistribution. Anyone see that happening in this decade after witnessing last night?
“Its really sad you are allowed to even have children in some of these states”
Kids? After all the free birth control and abortion I doubt we’ll see too many liberals having kids.
“This is a super serious issue. States need to exert their rights. That is yet another argument for why I voted for marijuana here in Wa.”
You’ll have your pot but you won’t be able to do much else. Just smoke your unemployed life away and all will be well.
Great.
In Michigan we crushed the union ballot proposals as well as the one that would have created a constitutional amendment requiring us to erect thousands of windmills.
Weird numbers all around.
How brilliant of you. I probably make more money than you do and have no plan to consume marijuana.
At least we won’t have to hear about that stupid bridge 24/7 for a while. I’m surprised the collective bargaining prop went down- good.
If this is upheld anywhere, or if any state is willing to fight Leviathan over this, I'm going there.
Sweet Home Alabama...
Me too. Bring it feds. I am so all about states right now.
It just seems weird to me that we could defeat the union proposals so soundly yet have the state go to Obama and Stabenow. I guess lots of democrats voted straight ticket and ignored the ballot proposals.
Personally I think its time to consider awarding our electoral votes by congressional district like we did in the primary.
“Rick Perry of Texas claimed that he would never establish the publicly run health exchanges in his state. Does anyone know whats become of that in Texas?”
Nothing’s changed. Perry’s been true to his word and defunded planned parenthood as well. Obama retaliated by stopping funding for the entire woman’s health program that everyone else gets.
Perry told him to take a long walk off a short pier.
“defeat the union proposals so soundly yet have the state go to Obama and Stabenow”
It’s the candidate not the policies that are the problem. Romney had much less support everywhere.
I’m doubling down on fighting the commies. I’ve had it.
Probably not. I personally think it is time to have a serious discussion about some form of secession.
Just out of curiosity...how will you fight them? Serious question. I know one thing.....it’s not going to happen at the ballot box anymore. Demographic changes Pat Buchanan warned us about have kicked in and unless that is reversed(Don’t see that happening), the ballot box is a worthless lost cause.
There needs to be a major demographic shift in this country...conservatives need to quit beating their heads against the wall in BLUE states, and move to RED states now. Cancel your cable, and get your children out of public schools NOW.
