Akin was intellectually shallow if he thought he could make a public statement like this before the election and it not cost him. He demonstrated that he was not politically savy enough to get elected.

Akin displayed his “intellect” in a televised debate with McCackle. He came off as a slow thinking dolt suffering a bad comb-over.
