Christie rejects blame for Romney's loss, looks forward — maybe to '16

Someone in the GOP leadership is likely to decide that 2016 is "Christie's turn". He follows in a great line of Romney, McCain, Dole, and so many other vaguely moderate elder statesmen who deserved a turn. I don't care how terrible the democrat is in 2016, if we even have a real election then, Christie will not get my vote in the primary or in the general. America needs a genuine conservative who can articulate why conservative values, conservative government, and conservative policies will make life better for voters - not someone whose claim to fame is simply not being the democrat.

It is no longer enough to be pro-freedom. Too many voters look at the free stuff that the Dems are promising and don't see the cost. We need a candidate who can articulate why conservative promotes freedom and how that leads to a better life for individual voters in the short term.

We also need party discipline. The Dems nationalized the election. They made it about Akin's stupid abortion comment, about a couple other abortion comments, and about our "lady parts", which is so stupid and irrelevant to the presidency that few sensible people took them seriously. Unfortunately, their focus groups were effective. Their social media monitoring was excellent, and they saw that the net effect of their little memes was to turn off voters and suppress the turnout, but to suppress our turnout more than theirs. They were right, and they barely squeaked out a "victory" based on (1) massive fraud, (2) divisive campaigning, and (3) narrowly targeted and absurd but emotionally effective attacks. We need someone who can respond in 2012, and it's not Christie.

Has it occurred to you, as it has to me; that I really loathe REPUBLICANS, damned near as much as I loathe Democrats. Time for them to go the way of the Whigs. We are NEVER going to get a Republican conservative candidate. They are playing us for suckers, just as the Democrats are playing the blacks. They’ll never see another cent from me, and next week, I’m changing to Independent, (and resigning my county committee seat.)

I think conservatives are not going to nominate a RINO again.

“They’re electable” is not going to cut it

I think they are. With a couple of exceptions, they've nominated a RINO in every presidential election year since 1928.

American presidential politics are blood sport. It is bare knuckled war. Christie knew that and he also knew the internal Romney polling numbers and yet he still helped Obama.

Makes me laugh. Christie is toast. He will never go anywhere in politics. The Dems won’t cuddle up to him and the Republicans are done with him. Simply put, Chris Christie has a very bad case of political herpes. And there is no cure.

Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Fearless prediction:
The NEXT Republican candidate will probably be the left of Romney.

Got to entice the Latinos, Asians, and “ladyparts voters” to our side, right?

(BTW: I claim credit for the new term, “ladyparts voter”, which we can expect to see used much in the future...)

Hey Christie, anybody who “weeps” because they talked to Springsteen on the phone is NOT Presidential material. So get a grip and shut your pie hole.

“Every single time a conservative tries to cosy up to liberals, they end up taking it in the keister.”

Something like, “If you lie down with dogs, you’re gonna get fleas.” Christie is a fleabag compliments of love-’im-and-leave-’im Barack Hussein Obama mmmm mmmm mmmm

“Republicans in NJ are going to be crawling over broken glass to vote for the Mob Democrat, just so they can make this guy go away.”

I’ll guess that Christie will face Newark mayor Corey Booker in the next NJ governor contest.

If that’s the case, he’ll probably lose.

Agreed. Christie is toast and he knows it. IMO the whole Obama photo op stunt was more about Christie’s own re-election than anything else. I hope the GOP does primary him and we get a shot to take him out before Cory Booker and the unions do.

There is no way Christie Kreme gets the GOP presidential nod in 2016. Not in a million years will the conservatives accept that gun grabbing, muslim loving RINO. He will likely keel over from a massive heart attack before 2016 anyway. His goal should be eating more salad and trying to stay alive.

Sorry. Beck and Stu were discussing how Christie looked like Bob the Tomato and at first they said Larry the Cucumber, but then they said, Obama actually looks closer to Archibald the Asparagus.
