Agreed. So, what next? When Levi says we have to resist, he is short on specifics. I don’t think any country would allow my husband and me to immigrate because of our age, but if things continue to go downhill, I hope our kids and grandchildren can find a place where there is still some freedom. I just don’t know where that is.

Sorry to say I can not advise on how best to avoid the consequences of this inevitably coming. I do know the western democracies are in the dependency stage. What follows next is dictatorship, tyranny either openly or falsely disguised as democracy. Democracies in Western Europe and in the Americas have past the tipping point. There is no going back. Neither Thatcher nor Reagan could be ever be elected again.

The takers will continue to elect their Santas and demand more goodies from the doomed governments. Appeals to reason, the Constitution etc... will fall on deaf ears and will be mocked. The end will not be in the hands of the voters or their elected officials. Rather, as in the Wiemar Republic, Argentina, Greece, etc... It will be forced by the creditors who will cease to fund the the unfundable. Each country will experience its own death rattle but on a date uncertain. One wants to be optimistic and fight the good fight, but our Alamo has arrived. The outcome has been determined.
